chickens

Wow, July seems like ancient history at this point, but let’s see if I can remember anything…

I’m sure it must have started with something fun… like the 4th of July. As always, we went down to the Pancake Breakfast in Winslow and then to the street fair and parade, followed by a small gathering at our house for a barbeque and fireworks.

A patriotic angel.

Later in the month we were visited by my best friend from growing up in California, Gudrun. It had been many, many, many years since we had been in touch, but thanks to Facebook we reconnected and got to see her for 4 whole days! We went to ZinZanni, toured the island, had a Seattle/Pike Place/Aquarium adventure and she was even in town for my birthday.

Unfortunately, this photo is the ONLY one I was able to capture of Gudrun's visit...

Calder became a chicken whisperer and at the end of the month we got our first egg!

Calder also became an unofficial staff member at Teatro ZinZanni for a week when he attended Camp ZinZanni. He spent so much time there that he got his face on the staff wall and marched with us in the Seafair Torchlight Parade.

Apparently, we spent some time at Seabeck too…

We finally put Garner to task.

And our garden grew…

I guess it was a pretty good month, now that I think about it…

Wow! A lot of time has passed since I posted anything on my blog! Spwing is just so fun and I spend most of my time outside now, so I never even remember to go on the computer. Dad is helping me catch you up on what we’ve been doing. You won’t even believe how much fun stuff I doned.

Chickies

The chickens got bigger. Fluffy Pie and Blackie died. They were sick. It was pretty sad but we did get more — Blondie, Dottie Dodi, Black Su, and Rock Star. Rock Star was in a movie! We also worked a lot on the coop so they could move out of the dining room which was getting really stinky and dusty:

Garner

Garner got bigger and cuter and funnier and everything:

Nannie started taking care of me and brother one day a week so she had to practice giving him a bottle.

Nannie practiced giving him a bottle. She is watching him one day a week while she is off of work. Mima still watches us two days a week so we get to see both of our grandmas.

T-Ball!

I started T-Ball. It is sooooo fun and I love batting, throwing and playing catcher! My team is the Diamondbacks which is a kind of snake… yikes! We call our team “The D-Backs” because it’s really cool. So far I’ve had 4 games:

Conundrum 2009

Dad’s drum students put on a recital every year called Conundrum. This was the first year I got to stay for the whole concert. I even helped the bands practice the night and morning before the big show. I loved hanging out with the bands:

Coming Soon

We’ll try to write about May before it’s over:

Onward!

Onward!

On Saturday, daddy and mommy took me and my friend Lola to Bay Hay and Feed and I got to pick out chicks! I really wanted to get one that was all black. I call her “Blackie.” They are so so cute and I even get to hold them. Lola’s chick, Violet, pooped on my hand though and now I don’t really like to hold them. I just like to pet them. Dad and I worked on their coop a whole bunch on Saturday. Then on Sunday, I got to get one more, a fancy one with fluffy feet I call “Fluffy Pie” (Cutie Pie + Fluffy = Fluffy Pie). Mom is going to get one more on Friday called a Buff Orpington. I think we should name it “Buffy” or “Goldie,” but mom wants to name it “Dolly.”
